A great effort and an ever greater experience....

A little 'under the tradar' our junior club has been slowly growing with around 15 x U10 and 10 x U12 training each Saturday. St Patrick's Day was also notable for another step in their development....

A big well done to our Under 10s who travelled to IES for their first ever taste of competitive hockey as they took part in a development tournament at Rushmere. Though the heavens opened, it certainly didn't put a dampner on our young players!

The squad, composed of 10 boys and girls, was a real mixture of experience with some children only joining in the last couple of months. They displayed excellent team spirit as they competed against Bury and two Ipswich development squads. Yet despite the persistent rain; and playing teams with more experience, they gave of their best and improved with every match - though results didn't go our way, they showed a lot of promise for the future and the children can only benefit from more experiences like this - they were a pleasure to be with! It'll also be a pleasure to advise Steve Taylor and the rest of the junior coaching team that their efforts and those of the children are paying off!

Finally, a big thank-you to the parents for supporting so enthusiastically and to Neil Turner, Sam Harris and Jo Horvath for their help on the day. We should also mention the organisers for the huge effort to make it happen; and to the unpires for their sympathetic umpiring!
