Felixstowe Hockey Club’s flourishing youth sector has ended the season on a double high, with both the club’s under-10 mixed teams going unbeaten and being crowned league winners.

The ‘A’ team, winners of the Suffolk youth premier division, took home 34 out of a possible 36 points, scoring 19 goals in their 12 matches along the way and winning by a clear 20 points. The ‘B’ team, winners of the Suffolk youth first division, conceded just 3 goals in total.

The club has significantly invested time and resource into developing the youth section into one of the best in the East, and the results are starting to show, with 5 u-14 girls and 2 u-14 boys playing for the club’s senior teams this season.

Head of youth at the club, Becky Williams, said: “Not only are the juniors thoroughly enjoying their hockey, they are improving at an incredible rate, which has been proven in the league success this season. Our u-8s right up to the u-16s at the club are all doing us very proud this season, performing at such a high level and representing our club impeccably. We couldn’t be more thrilled with the success and growth of the youth section in the last couple of years.”

The club’s U10 ‘C’ team secured runners-up spot in Division 2, whilst the U12 girls were placed 2nd in the Premier league, with the U12 boys finishing mid table position in a strong Suffolk league.
