Felixstowe Hockey Club Executive Committee can today announce that a new Chairman has been appointed to lead the club forwards.
Due to health factors, current Chair Tanya Ruffles has stepped down from her role and will pass on the reins to Phil Larbey. Kevin Beckett will assume the role of men’s club captain.
On his appointment as Chairman of FHC, Phil said: “Having played for Felixstowe for over 35 years (bar a few breaks!) it is a great honour to be asked to assume the Chairmanship of this wonderful club. It has been a joy working with Tanya and I’m sad to see her stepping down from the terrific work she has been doing.
“I look forward to continuing Tanya’s vision of making sure hockey is fun to play at this club and positively promoting the game within both the ladies and men’s sections.”
Tanya added: “I would like to thank the Executive Committee for their support in enabling me to make this decision, knowing that the club is in safe hands. I wish Phil and Kevin the very best in their new roles. I will continue in a consultancy role for the short-term to assist Phil and Kevin through the transition period.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as chair and working with the management committee this season. The club is extremely lucky to have a group of people who are willing to go above and beyond to make this club the place it is. Thank you to everyone for your support and good luck for the rest of the season”
The new appointments will begin immediately.
