Sam is a talented player and an excellent coach, he brings a wealth of experience both on and off the pitch. Sam's hockey journey began at the age of 8 with Ipswich and East Suffolk Hockey Club, where he broke into the first team at just 14! At 18, Sam joined Felixstowe Hockey Club and played a key role in the Men's 1st Team promotion to Premier A. He also competed at a high level with Harleston Magpies in the Midlands Conference.

As a coach, Sam has a proven track record, having worked extensively with both junior and senior teams at club and county level. His passion for coaching started early “I got into coaching when I was younger and would help my dad with junior training, and it all blossomed from there. I enjoy helping people learn the game and get all the physical and mental benefits that come from taking part in sport.”

When asked about his aspirations for this season, Sam shared “My aspiration for this season is for the 1's to be promoted and to try to ensure the other teams throughout the club have successful seasons.”

Beyond hockey, Sam works as a Community Engagement Coordinator at Ipswich Town Football Club, where he coaches disability teams and leads impact projects such as Refugee Football and Active Care Homes.

Sam brings a wonderful energy to the club his passion for the sport, commitment to player development, and enthusiasm for team success are already making a positive impact across all squads.

We are delighted to welcome Sam back to Felixstowe in this leadership role. His knowledge, passion, and dedication to the sport will be invaluable as we continue to grow and develop across all levels of the club.
