With the team back to full strength and a number of players returning after the half term break, the first team settled into the match.

Some excellent passing and movement off the ball saw a promising, but goalless first 10 minutes. Felixstowe then sprung into action, creating chance after chance with superb flowing hockey. The opposition at times were barely able to get near the ball as the pace and accuracy of passes were sublime. By half time it was 8 nil to the home side!

Knowing that it was goal difference that had kept them in 2nd place in the table earlier in the season, the team were determined to maintain the pressure in the second half. After a few minutes Felixstowe were adding to their lead despite a strong come back from a determined Colchester side. The Colchester midfield attacked with skill but the Felixstowe defense pressed high and kept the opposition at bay, often then starting the subsequent counter attack.

At full time it was 16 nil! Take nothing away from Colchester, they never gave up, played excellent hockey and created chances.

Felixstowe's goals were scored by Keira x4, Lucy x3, Holly x3, Aimee x2,  Catie x2, Evelyn and centre back Selina!

The pick of the goals was from debutante Catie, a reverse hit from the edge of the D that hit the top of the net.

The performance was arguably the best performance by a Women's team at FHC for many years and the team will take confidence from the game into next week's tough match against Harleston.
