First up, a HUGE thank you to all the players who doubled up on Saturday to make sure the 3s could take to the pitch. It was fantastic to have you with us, commitment levels officially noted! ?

A big shout out to our opposition too. Their young players worked incredibly hard and spent a lot of the first half keeping the ball firmly in our half. Our midfield and defence worked tirelessly to keep them out, but, as several of our players described them… IES were “relentless”. ?

Helena certainly earned her sweet treats that day, being kept very busy in the first half and pulling off some fantastic saves, including some excellent work off the line. Despite the best efforts of the whole team, IES went into half time 2–0 up.

Cue the rousing half-time team talk… and, of course, the obligatory half-time sweet treat. Because apparently tactics work better when fuelled by sugar. ??

The second half saw us come back fighting, with a few good breaks into the opposition D. We couldn't quite find the back of the net, but the effort and determination were fantastic to see. A really positive performance from the whole team!

And a special mention to our younger players, who can be incredibly proud of themselves. ⭐

Player of the Match went to Elsa, who had only just stepped up from the youth section and put in such a fantastic performance. What a way to announce yourself in senior hockey! ?❤️
