FHC Men's 4th team played a re-scheduled match from last weekend, on a relatively empty IES ground, against their 4th team.

Both teams started strong, creating chances, but Felixstowe were probably on top for the first 15-20 minutes. But a couple of defensive lapses leed to two quick goals from IES, leaving Felixstowe a bit speechless. However, heads didn't drop and we perservered, making it to half time at 2-0 down.

The half-time message was to go out there and give it 110%, get to the ball first and gamble on those attacking runs. It certainly paid off - within the space of five second half minutes, Felixstowe scored 3 goals! The first was a calmly taken short corner strike by Charlie Taylor; the second a pounced-on rebound shot by Sidney Mirams, and the last was a goalmouth scramble, turned in by Austin Burton.

We didn't let up after that - all the pressure continued, we pressed high and hard for the rest of the half and were unlucky to not get more goals. Stand-in keeper Chris Pond had little to do in the second half - I counted one short corner and one open attack... (but I could have mis-counted that)!

All-in-all a great turnaround, proving that you're never out of the game, and winning those little battles in the field have bigger benefits overall.
